Many dyslexics have visual and creative skills that other people don’t have – for problem-solving, inventiveness and design.
Many people in my family – the Conrans – are dyslexic but successful in different ways.
Sir Terence Conran designed interiors of hotels, airports and shops; he produced furniture, fabrics, china and glass for homes; he created cafes and glamorous restaurants. He also wrote books ! Terence never finished university.
Our son, Professor Sebastian Conran could not read until he was 8 years old; now he is an inventor and a robotics designer; he is also an international product designer and a Professor who teaches design. He also writes books ! He never finished university.
Sebastian’s two sons – my grandsons – are both dyslexic. Sam is a sound designer and his brother, Max is a cinematographer. They both got first class degrees.
Many celebrities, millionaires and successful people are dyslexic. You can be one of them.
Maths will help you achieve your ambitions.

Zina Turner is a Primary school teacher who has Dyslexia. Zina spent 200 hours testing Step 5 and Step 6 of MONEY STUFF to make sure Dyslexics can read it. Here is the letter she wrote about MONEY STUFF.
18 November 2021
I was asked to test the MONEY STUFF final maths book because I am a teacher and I am dyslexic and I am a single, working mum, so I don’t have much spare time.
While I was studying to be a schoolteacher, I had to spend 6 months in 4 different schools and 3 of these used different maths systems from the one I had been taught. I had to learn these systems and to teach them, as well as use them for myself. I have found that the MONEY STUFF maths course has allowed me to regard maths in a totally different way. The tone and format of the book allow a relaxed feel to learning.
A good maths textbook must be simple and clear because there is no maths teacher standing beside you or at the front of the classroom. You don’t have the opportunity to put your hand up and ask for help if something doesn’t make sense. to you. MONEY STUFF is by far the simplest text in a maths book that I have found to date because it felt as if someone who was interested in me was speaking to me in person.
Some of the topics that were covered in this book I found very enjoyable; especially those which required pattern making and logical working out, such as Sudoku.
I have found nearly all the examples easy to follow. They have been clear and transferable, which I have found to be the case all through this online textbook.
I have found a few of the examples tricky to grasp. As I am a dyslexic, I had to read these examples aloud, as though another person was reading them to me. Then I understood them.
From my personal experience, there are elements of maths that you learn for the purpose of passing an exam and you never use that information again. So, when you leave school, it goes in one ear and out the other. This MONEY STUFF textbook is poles apart from the others I have read because it has enabled me to regard maths in a different way, creating real life scenarios that draw upon the importance of maths in my everyday life.
As a single mother of two boys under the age of 16, I found this text book so informative that I am glad future students will be able to access information that I never had – and I wish I had been taught before I moved into adulthood.

The MONEY STUFF Plan covers the basic skills, concepts and knowledge that you need in order to be confident in mathematics and successful when taking your GCSE mathematics examinations. In taking this course I am sure students will become more confident in mathematics and never again say “I can’t do maths”.
MONEY STUFF brings mathematics to life, using real life examples and situations in a lively and interesting way. It is aimed primarily at girls, using contexts which are relevant and familiar to them – which I am sure will engage students – showing how mathematics, in the outside world, is relevant and important to their entire lives.”
The explanations, text and examples are clear and simple to understand, and the exercises are fun to do.

The poor maths performance of British workplace entrants is a business issue. Many employers are concerned about the maths skills of some of their workforce. We need a new approach to maths. This is it.
